The Franchise Tax Board maintains a useful web site which provides links to other government agencies. From this site you can reach the California Home Page and Web sites for the Employment Development Department , Internal Revenue Service , State Board of Equalization, State Controller's Office and Secretary of State.
Social Security resources included information abut Social Security taxes, rates and legislation. It also features an online benefits calculator.
Need to look up the current or historical Consumer Price Index figures?
The Securities and Exchange Commission web page contains corporate SEC filings in electronic form. The database is called EDGAR - for electronic data gathering, analysis and retrieval system and is word searchable.

The Society of California Accountants maintains an information filled website with links to many CPA's and their web sites.
